Why is he the way he is?

Any insight?

Graham

Trevor did an audio interview for FSM Magazine Online (Volume 14, No. 8, August 2009). Facinating and bittersweet. He talks about how he turned toward the movies to escape from reality to cope with the harsh climate of Aparthied as well as his troubled home life as a child. It was at that time he noticed the music in films and thats the point where he wanted to be a film composer.

That being said, Jones' tone and demeaner in the 2009 interview sounds delighted, gracious and generous toward Tim Burden's questions. One of the best composer interviews IMHO.

I remember that when The Dark Crystal download popped up on Google Play Music briefly (think it was last year or 2017) it was listed as copyright Trevor Jones - a short while later it vanished and later resurfaced on iTunes' with copyright to Jim Henson Co.

Naughty Jones possibly tried to pull a fast one?

LOL!

I got the same impression from an interview shown on Top Billing (local actuality TV programme) here in SA around nine or so years ago. I remember Jones showing the interviewer his collection of bound hand written scores kept in his library for reference purposes. He seemed jovial and friendly if a bit "posh".

Here is a link to an interview he did for Expresso (SA morning show) in 2013:
