'The Powers that be', are going to make us throw out our 'Energy Saving Light Bulbs' such as Halogens, and go BACK to the 1950's and those 'incandescent' light bulbs that burned out quickly and consumed more electricity. Higher electric rates, something we've all dreamed of, right? (I just ordered PLENTY of Halogens from Amazon) as a precaution. Remember those 'screw-top' varities? Can't find them in stores anymore, but they are still available if you seek them out.

LEDs, for the win. Even come in different 'hues', so if you want, you can have a nice, warm, tan coloured glow smile

You make it sound like they are replacing one light bulb ban with another. Nothing in the proposed rule changes anything regarding existing bulbs on the market. The bulbs at stake are decorative globes in bathrooms, candle-shaped lights, three-way light bulbs and recessed reflector bulbs. Under existing rules, on 1 January 2020 these special types of bulbs are to be brought under the energy-efficiency standards that currently exist for "regular" bulbs. That means that these special types of incandescent bulbs would effectively be banned, as their "regular" counterparts were in 2007. The proposed rule keeps that change from going into effect, thus saving these special incandescent bulbs from being banished. The proposed rule has no effect on existing CFL, LED, or halogen bulbs.

I don't mind the halogens, but I can't stand the LED bulbs. But I prefer incandescent over all.
