NEXT GOAL WINS---Michael Fassbender is in negotiations to star in this Taiki Waititi movie about Thomas Rongen, the coach of the American Samoa football team as it tries to qualify for the FIFA World Cup. SPIDER-MAN---Joe Russo said Sony made a mistake in not including Marvel Studios and studio Kevin Feige in future Spider-Man movies, “It was a tenuous, fraught union throughout the whole process. But, I will say, stepping back and trying to be objective as possible, that I think it’s a tragic mistake on Sony’s part to think that they can replicate Kevin’s penchant for telling incredible stories and the amazing success he has had over the years. I think it’s a big mistake.” RAMBO---Sylvester Stallone said he is thinking about a Rambo prequel movie, "I always thought of Rambo when he was 16 or 17 – I hope they can do the prequel – he was the best person you could find. He was the captain of the team; he was the most popular kid in school; super athlete. He was like Jim Thorpe, and the war is what changed him. If you saw him before, he was like the perfect guy." FRIENDS---co-creator Marta Kauffman commented on a possible reboot or reunion, “We will not be doing a reunion show. We will not be doing a reboot.” She added, “There are two reasons for that. One of the reasons we won’t do a reunion is because this is a show about a time in your life when your friends are your family. And when you have a family, that changes. But the other reason is it’s not going to beat what we did.” EL GATO NEGRO---Apple TV+ tv series underway based on the comic book. Diego Boneta stars. Robert Rodriguez is the director. SHANTARAM---Charlie Hunnam stars in this Apple TV+ tv series based on the novel. BLACK NARCISSUS---Alessandro Nivola (JURASSIC PARK III) and Gemma Arterton (QUANTUM OF SOLACE) star in this BBC One/FX miniseries remake based on the novel. NO GOOD NICK---Netflix cancelled the series. TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia. Director/producer/writer Garry Marshall (HAPPY DAYS, PRETTY WOMAN) appeared as one of the doomed mobsters in GOLDFINGER. He and the other mobsters received a lethal dose of Delta 9 nerve gas after they smuggled in components of Auric Goldfinger's plan to explode an atomic warhead at Fort Knox's gold depository. Director/producer/writer Garry Marshall's many credits include HAPPY DAYS and PRETTY WOMAN. Marshall played one of the doomed mobsters (center) in GOLDFINGER.

S.M.G. notoriously doesn't want anything to do with BtVS and I get the strong impression some of the "Friends" cast is like that.

You guys are way, way too harsh on the JW short. But I do have some issues with it myself. It's basically a "take" on the first part of the trailer sequence in THE LOST WORLD, taking place one year after the events of FALLEN KINGDOM. Not bad, but very rushed. I've always considered Trevorrow a hack of a director, but this was fairly OK for him, I think. It's got the IDEA right, i.e. taking it back to basics with regular people in peril -- not big military warfare and whatever the JW films have introduced. I'm unfamiliar with the composer Amie Doherty. There's a little bit of original score, and several references to JW's two JP scores, but again -- there's never enough room or space for the music to breathe, and the references are over before they're introduced, almost. Plus it's mixed very low.
