I thought for some time now that my copy of the soundtrack to Practical Magic was the one featuring the rejected score by Michael Nyman. Since it says his name on the back cover. But today I realized it is not it since I for the first time actually noticed Alan Silvestri`s name on the actual CD today and I have owned this CD for at least a year or two, go figure. Well to be honest when listening to the two score tracks I am amazed that I did not hear the Silvestri sound because it sounds typical Silvestri to me today but apparently not on my earlier listening.
I absolutely love those two Alan Silvestri score tracks on this CD. Great theme, typical Silvestri. I have a boot of the full score but it's really bitty and doesn't sound so great. I stick with the official suite on the proper album until Music Box release the full score proper
Nyman's is interesting and for sure one my the better things I've heard by him.
But the cue 'Amas Veritas' is one of my favorite pieces of music, ever. So...
If this were released with both composers it'd likely need two CDs as there's almost 90 minutes between them (provided the ya know doesn't just duplicate stuff like some do)
