@ Mr. Replicant006: capsule review, please.

Certainly. Although I've never been a tremendous fan of Desplat - I've always just liked his scores as opposed to loving them - I do feel that The Imitation Game is one of his strongest efforts. The score is a bit melancholy but it's very much in line with the tragic main character of the film, Alan Turing. I think Desplat does a fine job at exploring the mind of Turing. The score feels intimate and troubled, along with the moods and feelings of its main character. Also, there was a real uniformity to the entire score, very consistent. And strong themes throughout, represented very well on piano. Hope that helps smile

Interesting. "liked his scores as opposed to loving them" pretty sums my view about Desplat's music, when I do enjoy them, such as "The Ghostwriter" and "Birth". Looking into "The Imitation Game" presently.

Thanks buddy. smile

Irma La Douce. 1963. Andre Previn.

Very-nice effort by Previn, i love the combinations in this score, its jazzy its classical even the pop is lovable.
