Hi, just wondered does anybody know if Eric Robertson's score for this movie survives? Some of the music in the film is beautiful and like the film is quite underrated.

"Millennium" was a film that played on TV a lot in the '90s and I also remember every single video store I'd go to having a copy (or two) for rent, but somehow I never saw it. I've always heard that it's pretty good, and I like the cast & director.

Regarding a release of the music, it was distributed by 20th Century Fox (who also distributed production company Gladden Entertainment's "The Sicilian" and "The Fabulous Baker Boys," both of which had soundtrack releases at the time), so if the music does survive it might be located in the Fox vaults... which means it's probably off limits for the time being due to the Disney acquisition (as is the film itself, though I understand that Scream Factory put out a blu-ray a few years back).

Thanks for the reply. I guess a soundtrack release would be put on hold then.

It would be if one of the labels had been eyeing it (and if it's still tied into 20th Century Fox). Honestly, this is the first time I've ever seen this score being discussed anywhere so I'm not sure how much in demand it may be. Having not seen the film, I have no idea what kind of score this is (orchestral? synth? both?) but Michael Anderson films tend to have really excellent scores (Logan's Run, Orca, Pope Joan, The Quiller Memorandum, etc.) so I'm guessing this has solid scoring.

Pulled up a cue on Youtube -- sounds like boring synth work.

Not sure what you listened to, but check this scoring out. A big orchestral pop Love Theme that seems to fit the film like a glove.

Didn't hear a single synth there though.

The composer is totally unknown to me.

Okay, that cue was much better, but still nothing to write home about.

Far from boring. Yeah some of the music is cheesy romantic music but certain parts have excellent music such as opening titles, the end credits and the scene when Louise (Cheryl Ladd) first arrives in the present to seduce Bill (Kris Kristofferson).

The music itself is a mix of electronic and orchestra with some ethereal music thrown in. Not the best score ever but I wouldn't recommend it if I hated it.

The film itself might be good depending on taste. It's not the best sci-fi time travel movie ever but it has a lot going for it. It also in retrospect is an early example of the whole "finding time traveller" (i.e. people from the future in the past) craze that is going on at the moment.

The cue from the scene I posted above sounds like a combination of 1980s Richard Band and Marvin Hamlisch, and I liked it. I'd like to hear the rest of it.

The composer, Eric Robertson, had a career that spanned from 1974 to 2008, and he seems to have retired. Most of his other work was for obscure features and television. Has anybody heard anything else by him?

Yeah the music in that clip is sort of passionate and sentimental. The end credits music is similar to that in tone. The scene I was talking about when Louise shows up to seduce Bill is slightly played for laughs with her having trouble adjusting to her heels while classic music plays. I like the music anyway:

Unearthing this to see on the off chance that someone has heard anything meanwhile? I love this score entirely,
to the point where I have lifted music from the film digitally and tried to clean it up to listen to.
I work in film myself and these little pieces of music do me wonders lol
I realize this is a slightly obscure 80's film with a soundtrack that probably isn't in demand but worth a shot.
Thanks
Colin

Can you share link of your works?
I agree, although not a masterpiece, both movie and score are evocative
