But I would imagine we are in the majority that misses the opening title sequence (surely EVERYONE on here?). To me it was like the wrapper or cover of a book. And all the character of the show/movie was right there in that sequence with the music and everything. Which is why YT has all the remembered sequences. You can spend hours doing them without realising it.
Agreed. Must be reasons why we don't have movies with opening credits and a main theme playing over the credits.
I'd speculate that one reason is money. Keeps the costs down.
The second probably main reason is all the changes in film scores for the past few decades. We now have a lot of ambient scores and themeless scores. Also we have movies that basically are sound designs or soundscapes. I'm not knocking this. But I would put those scores behind narrative visuals, not in opening credits.
"Overlay for Evil." Manfredini's skill always been cool at applying weird elements too synths some works have been outright menacing in parts. Yep, The Cha Cha Cha build-up & how it flourishes is very-psycho indeed, well, at least I think so.

A number of tv shows started a trend for decent title sequences with accompanying themes. Game of Thrones and Daredevil spring to mind, love both those. I hoped it would spill over into the cinema but sadly not.
