LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydnzilTiBcY&t=6s

MASTERS OF THE AIR---Apple+ has picked up the Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg World War II miniseries based on the book about the Eighth Air Force's bombing raids over Nazi Germany. The $200 million+ miniseries will be over eight hours long and is the final chapter in the Hanks/Spielberg World War II miniseries trilogy that began with BAND OF BROTHERS and THE PACIFIC. John Orloff (BAND OF BROTHERS) is the writer. No premiere date was announced.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS---a cast rumor claims Lady Gaga is a candidate to play Audrey, Billy Porter is a candidate to be the voice of the carnivorous plant and Chris Evans wants to play the sadistic dentist in the remake movie.

SPIDER-MAN---a rumor claims Walt Disney/Marvel Studios reportedly offered Sony Pictures $4 billion-$5 billion for the rights to Spider-Man. Marvel wants Spider-Man to be the new leaders of the Avengers in a future movie "while leaving Captain Marvel to lead A-Force".

TRAINING DAY---Warner Bros. prequel underway based on the 2001 movie that starred Denzel Washington. The prequel follows Washington's character, Alonzo Harris, 10 years before the original 2001 movie and leading up to the Los Angeles riots caused by the Rodney King beating by Los Angles cops. Washington's son, John David Washington, has been mentioned as a candidate to star as the younger Harris.

MANIAC COP---HBO tv series underway based on the 1988 horror movie. The director/showrunners are Nicolas Winding Refn and John Hyams, son of writer/director Peter Hyams.

THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR---Will Smith is developing a spinoff tv series based on his sitcom.

HORROR---Russell Crowe will star in this untitled horror movie about an actor who starts to unravel while filming a horror movie as his estranged son thinks there is a sinister force to blame.

LISEY'S STORY---Clive Owen will co-star with Julianne Moore in this HBO miniseries from Stephen King and JJ Abrams.

COMING TO AMERICA 2---Eddie Murphy said the sequel will be rated PG-13. The original 1988 movie was R-rated.

A CERTAIN SLANT OF LIGHT---Amazon Studios movie underway based on the supernatural novel.

TRIVIA---in the sci fi movie THEM!, star James Whitmore had to battle both giant ants and a giant co-star. The 5' 8" Whitmore wore shoe lifts and used various body movements to prevent from being overshadowed by his 6' 7" co-star, James Arness.

I wonder how Geena Davis's gender, LGBTQIA, race and disabilities bias detect-o-matic computer program would respond to a movie like this?

In all in for Masters of the Air. Years away but I'm sure it will be as compelling and well done as Band of Brothers and The Pacific.

Oh look, small, skinny female character can kick @ss as well the hulking outdoorsman. big grin
Seems like a copy of the Mummy movies just in another local. Looks like fun and the two leads appear to have the same chemistry together as Brendan Fraser & Rachel Weisz had.

I loved Band Of Brothers.
Couldn't connect with anyone or anything in The Pacific and bailed on it.
I'll probably never see this new one if it's only available on some Apple shite channel/platform.

Based on that LSOH picture match up above, Lady Gaga could play the plant brilliantly.

I think Lady Gaga would make a great Audrey. She has the vocal ability. Tony award winning Billy Porter would also be fine as the voice of the plant. I just have a hard time seeing Captain America Chris Evans playing the sadistic dentist. Maybe he just wants to branch out into opposite roles.

If they spend all this money on talent, special effects, and other production values, but then hire Lorne Balfe, some other Zimmer satellite, Junkie XL, and so forth and so on, it'll be like taking a big fat dump on it.

I read about Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg producing Masters Of The Air a few years ago, then nothing, I thought it had all been dropped. So Apple+ has come up with the huge budget, I'm sure it'll be great, but they haven't started filming yet, is it cast, or even fully written? It could be two or three years before we see it (I must have another look at Band Of Brothers & The Pacific).

Jungle Cruise looks like good undemanding fun (esp. if you're a fan of The Rock), I'll see it, well, wait for the Blu-ray.

Me too. The Pacific did nothing for me. Seems like you never even saw the enemy.

I don't know.
But, honestly. I can't get too excited over a film that seemingly glorifies Allied air raids on cities.
Most military historians agree they weren't particularly strategic and wasted precious resources. And, are morally debatable nd controversial to this day!
I'm a WWII buff but this aspect of the war has always troubled me.
So , take away my Silver Star!

Fyi The LGBTQIA bias detector is called GIN-A. It's the precursor to WAL- E
It's a compact, mobile computer that can go thru 50 scripts a.ma.minute with its high speed mechanical arms flipping pages at a high speed!
