Set 25 years after the events of the original “Twin Peaks” the third season of “Twin Peaks,” also known as “Twin Peaks: The Return”, consisted of 18 episodes and premiered on Showtime on May 21, 2017. Developed and written by David Lynch and Mark Frost over several years, the season was a continuation of the 1989–91 ABC series. An ensemble of returning and new cast members appeared, led by original star Kyle MacLachlan.

Robert Forster was the first choice for “Sheriff Harry S. Truman” in the original series, but he dropped out because of scheduling conflicts and the role went to Michael Ontkean. Ironically, Forster ended up replacing Ontkean in the 2017 series as “Sheriff Frank Truman.” Forster first worked with David Lynch on MULHOLLAND DR. (1999/2001).

Robert Forster once described how to succeed in Hollywood: “Step #1 is you've got to have a good attitude. Step # 2 is accept all things, deliver excellence to whatever is offered, give it your best shot. And rule #3 is never quit. It's not over 'til it's over.”

True to his rules, Forster’s final film, EL CAMINO: A BREAKING BAD MOVIE, opened the day he died. Farewell Bob, and thanks for all the great work.

Excellent work, DiMucci.

It does surprise me a bit that more FSM nerds didn't chime in about Bob "Captain Dan Holland" Forster.

Heck, Forster even had an action figure, which I used to have as a kid.
