This week's Hidden Gem (#33 as we count down to #1) is a 1963 film from France. When this was listed (in 2013), Louis Malle's masterpiece was not as well known as it is today. Speaking of French movies, I don't see "Siren of Atlantis" (1949) on your gems list. Have you seen it? An unusual noir adventure fantasy with a very "French" ending (strange and unhappy), being based on a French novel. It's one of several film versions, but I've only seen this one starring Dennis O'Keefe. There are some negative reviews on imdb which should be ignored. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040794/
