Update:

CD is already out. That's a welcome change, CD before the digital release.

Available at Amazon UK and Amazon France:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Paradise-War-Original-Picture-Soundtrack/dp/B07Y4J55DD/

https://www.amazon.fr/Paradise-War-Original-Picture-Soundtrack/dp/B07Y4J55DD/

Nothing at Amazon US, just the digital, but I got it shipped to the US from Amazon UK for $16 total.

My CD arrived today from Amazon UK.

The score is short, only 41 mins, but it has a nice sweeping sound. It has a dark, epic tone, most of it is similar to 1408, Tom at the Farm and the thriller portions of The Talented Mr Ripley. There are also some grand, romantic portions. It's not terribly melodic, though there's a pretty main theme that's simple but memorable, but the score is still gorgeous.

It's wonderful to hear a huge, old-fashioned orchestral score that is allowed to sound full-blooded and symphonic and not made to sound like a synthesizer.

Only bad thing is the CD comes in an ultra-cheap cardboard sleeve, like an FYC disc. It's much cheaper than anything I've ever seen for a commercial CD before. That said, it's a miracle to have this score on CD at all, so I'm not complaining too much.

It's kind of amazing that he wrote such a huge orchestral score for such a small, obscure film. I wonder what the story behind it is. There are no big names associated with the film, and I know an orchestral score of this size costs a lot to record.
