Hi Patrick

I'm desperate to get those additional cues from ORCA, do you think another label will issue a single CD of the score with the extra tracks?
I've got most of the stuff on this set and is darned expensive just for 3 cues.

Thanks Dave

I dont have any inside info but la chiave was released separately already .so you never know

Alexandre Desplat and his wife Solrey are digging the epic box set as well:

Is this set limited in numbers?
It's on Amazon UK at the moment for £87, which breaks down to around £4.80 per disc, which is pretty good, even if most people have the big, top-selling earlier editions of the famous stuff.
Is the book (that the CD's come housed in) any good?

Aperture e incontro is the same piece of music on all three releases, the difference is the sound quality. The Music Box release was a huge improvement on the Legend and this release improves on the Music Box.

On ORCA:
The set is great for the additional tracks, although in mono, but they are the most relevant music from the movie that were missing (the Main Titles and the "out to sea" tracks) and the sound is acceptable.

However I have to point out that the sound in the Music Box release is superior to the one in this new collection.
This new collection is mastered "hotter"/louder, but it made more apparent some of the flaws in the LP masters, such as the damage that can be heard in the left channel at "Orca (Tema Dell Orca)" at 0'56" which also exists in the Music Box edition but is less apparent.
Another issue exists in the left channel at the track "Dialogo Dei Ricordi" at 1'22" and this issue is not present at the Music Box release.
Therefore, for my digital library, I'm keeping the Music Box files and adding the additional tracks adjusting them to a slightly lower volume to match the Music Box tracks.

Where did you acquire the Music Box files? Can you share your source?

I have the Music Box CD (acquired just before it became unavailable).

My guiltiest of pleasures: Citta Violenta and Un Uomo da Rispetarre. Fun, listenable and unique after all these years.

Absolutely NO guilt involved in enjoying either title. If you like these, imagine my excitement as a mid-teenager getting hold of the 2-LP set I Film Della Violenza, which included these and more...

The Henri Verneuil disc is one I can't put away.. The Sicilian Clan, Il Serpente, and I.. come Icaro, all gold.

I only had Fistful, Humanoid, and State of Grace previously, so this set is a trove for me.
