A new animated adventure, based on the Dr Seuss story, on Netflix from November 8th. Newman already scored The Cat In The Hat feature film some years back. Hope this one's a goodun.
Yesterday the composer tweeted about the score twice:
"Nov. 8 - green eggs and ham - it's a fantastic show. Great for adults as well as kids. I had the pleasure of scoring all 13 episodes. Don't miss it!"
And here's a reply to Track Sounds' comment of "This looks A LOT better than I thought it would. Looks like it will be filled to the brim with pop songs, BUT I look forward to hearing David Newman's (@dnewmanm5) score."
"Not really all that many songs. At least 19 mins of score for every episode. Generally the episodes are a bit less than 25 mins. It's a wonderful show."
Go to say, I agree with Bond1965. This looks like it's mad to be watched by somebody twelve and under.
As opposed to the book?
Kids plowed through it in two days. I thought it was pretty clever. When there's something that's kid friendly and it doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out it's a win. If they're watching this they're not watching Pokemon.
Between Galaxy Quest, Ice Age, and now this we seem to be in the David Newman zone! And he did a terrific job.
