Back in 2011, Twilight Time Movies began to issue DVDs and subsequently Blu-Rays of films; marvelous titles in terms of their scope and variety. Many had isolated soundtracks and commentaries from notable film authorities. As many as three or four titles were issued every consecutive month from early 2011 through September of 2019. Now releases have suddenly ceased after September of 2019 with no explanation. Perhaps the tragic passing of Nick Redman is a part of the explanation. However, if it is the end of releases; hail to a magnificent journey while it lasted; or perhaps we will see the return of Twilight Time Movies soon. Does anyone have any detailed information on the circumstances of Twilight Time's disappearance?

"Whatever decision they make I’ll support, but it seeks to remind us that it’s a dangerous time to be a classic film fan."

A "dangerous time"? Should we go into hiding?

I certainly hope that they can sustain. But the prices on their titles is a substantial problem. A $30 bluray is rather high for catalog titles, fine as they are. You can buy titles of all ages and newest releases with multi-disc sets for quite a bit less than $30 from retailers and Amazon.

It's worse if you're in the UK, the weak pound, $13 p&p & customs charges makes for a very expensive movie. I have about ten of their releases, with The Egyptian being my favourite. The last three I bought (in the sales) were, Cat Ballou (what a fantastic looking transfer by Sony), Genghis Khan & Pirates Of Blood River. It was good while it lasted.

Listen, when the person who was the visionary behind the company passes away, you are left with people who don't have that passion. It's that simple. Sure, they could hang on, I guess, but Twilight Time WAS Nick and Nick is gone.
