When I envision Film Music Nerds getting together, it's a group of silent men shifting nervously in their sneakers, hands in their pockets, looking at the floor.
We need to mainstream! Let's try this: become a Bro Culture! Here's a sample of what we could do before a concert: https://youtu.be/hx5Nl9H5goI?t=176 What else could we do?
DIB was at our FSM get together a few years ago.
Thor was there and, miraculously, didn't get shit faced. Wrathbone started a bar room brawl which got half of us arrested. I snuck out before the fuzz came. Then afterwards, I went back in and finished my Guinness. Espinosa fell asleep. I left him there.
Guess it's time to post the classic film score fan get-together pic again: Perfect! Thanks for this!
Bro culture hits Broadway:
VIDEO Why couldn't we do film, too?
-Baton (Wand) conducting competitions. One step above "air conducting," because we've got class!
I might have one of those pairs of glasses.
I think the proper word is "nerdity." I'm afraid I can't let this word be promulgated in this thread. Someone will see it, then start imagining what "full frontal nerdity" is, and that could get ugly!
I just discovered that there's something called "Walk-Up Music," for baseball players.
Why don't we do that, so we can spread film music awareness? So, at the next staff meeting, when you walk in the door, have your Nerdphone play your walk-up music. Me, what would I choose? Hmmmm. Either "The Gremlin Rag" VIDEO or some swooshy 70's Mancini, like "Dreamy" from THE RETURN OF PINK PANTHER, VIDEO or the gushy, comic fanfare that opens the bedroom finale of THE PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN https://youtu.be/usZG6ekFN4g?t=50 And what would your walk-up be?
Maybe we can start small. Maybe we can start selling t-shirts. What saying should we have on it?
"I know how to wear earphones while bobbing my head. Ask me how."
Or start big. Is there a Film Music Day? To spread awareness?
Maybe there should be. (There's an International Bacon Day, after all.)
