Ive seen it several times and like many kubrick it just gets better. Photography is lush and the duel set piece with lord Bullingdon and Barry is brilliantly staged. One of kubrick's more under-appreciated works. Great use of music too.
There are some gems in among the text, like the fact they had to decamp from ireland and move to locations in england due to terrorist threats.

I remember pausing the film several times. Every frame is pretty much a great image.
Probably well known to kubrick fans but to get the unique look of Lyndon he collected two old but rare cameras that were being stored and then fitted them with special lenses that had been developed for nasa.
This reminds me that I need to see this film again, it's been a few years (a little bit of a downer as I remember). I have the Blu-ray in a Stanley Kubrick box set, but the Americans have a spanking new transfer on the Criterion label.
Here's a bit more explanation about the look kubrick was after on lyndon, the lenses they used, the mitchell rear-projection cameras and they also used 3-wick candles that burn brighter for interior scenes.
