Scotland removing themselves from Britain -- now THERE'S a Brexit I would support! Norway roots for Scotland!
Does it really matter which type of Brexit you do support, you being a foreign national? Also, I thought that foreign interference in elections was frowned upon. Must have misread the memo I guess.

Okay, TG. Speaking of money, a couple of years ago, we were on a cruise that landed on Guernsey Island. Gorgeous place. We were then going to dock at Southampton. We were going straight to the airport to fly home as we had been in London before this trip. However, those staying in London immediately went to banks on Guernsey to get pounds. A couple of hours later, they had to return to those same banks because they found out that "Guernsey Pounds" were only good in Guernsey. They could not be used in England. These people thought that if Euros were good in France, Germany, Spain, etc., pounds would be the same.

Not strictly correct: the Guernsey pound is equivalent to the British pound but some (many) retailers are reluctant to accept the notes because there is a greater risk of them being fraudulent (i.e. don't recognise them). Any major bank - if you can find one these days - will exchange at parity.
As for different currencies in different nations ... isn't that what makes the world interesting? That said, we've benefitted from the common Euro currency whilst travelling through numerous mainland Europe countries. This year, it was a hassle to get Czech koruna for our three night stop (in that lovely country), whereas Euros saw us through the other five countries ... until we returned to Old Blighty ... and even the Czech Republic accepted the Euro in some establishments.
As for Ireland (you mention in an earlier post) ... you are referring to two separate nations (which happen to share the same land mass) so differing currencies is not unexpected.
At least ... at present 
Back on topic ... and trying to be non-political: yes, I think there is a good chance Scotland will go independent but it may be some years yet. However, Brexit will, I firmly believe, bring that date forward.
And to lighten the mood ... Guernsey was the first place I visited by aeroplane (aged 14, with my parents) ... and we missed the flight home!!!

Well there is one person who is Scottish that must NEVER exit this board. Of course, I'm talking about our Beloved Graham Watt. (Well, I guess he is a Spanish-living Scot.)
My dear joan - I will never brexit this board. Thank you for convincing me. "Beloved!" With a capital B! I'm a Remainer now! Always was, always will be, always have been a has-been.
Anyway, yes... hmmm... I think we're on safe ground here at the moment regarding the rules. Absolutely everything boils down to politics in the end, so we're going to be skirting/addressing the issue no matter what. Football, travel... in fact it's probably equally linked to religion. I think we can continue discussing things even when using those particular words, and I admire David Sones' generally common sense in knowing what to allow and where to draw the line. Can't be an easy job.
Will Scotland ever become a separate nation? Independence? Well, perhaps it will at some point. If it ever does I just hope that the decision is a measured one and not based on jingoism. There are a heck of a lot of "patriots" out there who know very little about history, economics, 21st-century international deals, but an awful lot about why we should be "free", after six cans of Tennant's Lager and a Mel Gibson BRAVEHEART marathon.
Guernsey! I worked there in the early '90s, and the bedroom of my house overlooked Oliver Reed's garden. He had high walls and hedges around his house, but my room was just higher enough to be able to see the antics going on. I think he was a shy man who had to adopt a kind of persona which he wasn't really comfortable with. Drink made him - in his eyes - the loveable rogue, but it also made him an oaf and a target for hangers-on. One morning I was woken up by a hell of a clattering noise. It was 7 a.m. but the sun was up and Ollie Reed had been locked out of his own house after the party had finished. Not only had he been locked out of his house but he'd been locked out of his own garden, so he was in the street attempting to clamber through the impossibly thick hedge, and he was just in a black thong. He was shouting, "Fucking dogs, you have RUINED my entire LIFE"!
I also remember the licensing laws in Guernsey. They weren't allowed to serve alcohol on a Sunday unless accompanied by food. Nobody wanted to have to buy a meal in order to drink a pint, so some people used to rent a Sunday sandwich. It was only 30 (Guernsey) pence, but people would buy the sandwich on the first Sunday of the month and nibble away at it each Sunday until the end of the month just so that they could get a beer without having to buy a meal. The bar staff used to quite happily store the rancid sandwiches for a full four weeks, with a yellow sticker on them with the customers' names.
At least that's what the Scottish people did. Scrounging mean ratbags. I'd send Scotland into the middle of the sea, as a separate banana boat floating around near Iceland, just to see how they like it. They'd probably complain about the weather and blame it on the government. Salt of the earth mind you. Some of my favourite parents were Scottish.

Boris Johnson's legacy will be a messy Brexit and losing Scotland (so it can wisely remain in the EU). If someone manages to put Johnson out of our misery, Scotland is more likely to stay or separate more deliberately.
