The sites search engine has always been unreliable and hit and miss. Best to use a real search engine as noted above.

Yes, I do that, but it's a back-up solution. Regular Google searches like that often don't get the results I want.

I dunno, Thor, I've got a pretty good track record using that one...

I'm trying to search for stuff, but it doesn't work. FSM's own search engine doesn't work properly (I get hundreds of pages worth of hits, but very few of them have anything to do with what I searched for), nor does googling (somehow, it can't find threads even though I'm 100% certain they exist).

Could we start a Kickstarter campaign to fund Lukas' fixing of the search engine?

FSM's search engine is completely worthless. I put in exact words and all it does is give me a random list of current threads or posts.

I keep reading the title of this thread as Shite Search Engine, which is also rather apt smile

As we said higher up, it's still much better if you put speech marks either side of the exact phrase you want.

I always do that, but it doesn't help much. Still get hundreds of pages of unrelated threads.

Yeah but if you type "John Williams is my god" each time you will get hundreds of pages of threads

How did you find this thread from 2019?

How did you find this thread from 2019?

This one came up early in the hits, for some reason (amongst many unreleated ones). Maybe because it's closer in time, last being active in 2020. Meanwhile, the thread for Horner's IN COUNTRY from 2013 was nowhere to be seen. I had to be really creative to find that. It's random.

I found it on the first page of results, #25 on the list, by searching the string "Horner AND country" (in quotes).

Now, yes, but I think that’s because I bumped it?

The Google method noted earlier works well for me still, although I often have to play around with phrases or user names. Sometimes I'll throw in "howard l" after a phrase or keyword but for some reason it frequently acts as a natural repellent.

Too bad, only losers are attached to this board. You had decades to become millionaires and pick up the tab.
