UK TV viewers who receive Sky Arts may like to check out a new 12 part series "Great Film Composers: The Music of the Movies which "explores the origins and influence" of film music.
The first episode covered music for the silent film. It was very well researched with a wealth of information on how music was used during the silent era up to the beginning of sound film. The second episode will cover the 1930s and Max Steiner.
