Hi! Does ANYONE know where I can get a copy -- or a photocopy -- of the piano sheet music for Hugo Friedhofer's haunting theme for the 1955 20th Century-Fox film "Soldier of Fortune", starring Clark Gable and Susan Hayward? It was published by Miller Music Corp. in 1955, with words by Ken Darby. There's even a recording of the piano solo on the FSM CD of the soundtrack. The sheet music is long out-of-print, but still has an Amazon webpage with photo. Any information you can provide will be most appreciated. Thanks!

Friedhofer's themes are for me among the most achingly lovely of any composer. Ron, if you're still up for sharing a pdf of the sheet music for Soldier of Fortune I would hugely appreciate it. I've scoured ebay, amazon, all the usual providers and have had no luck.

You could also breeze by the British Library, St. Pancras:

Mission accomplished. All 4 pages went through, Peter.

I've occasionally used the worldcat.org site to locate copies of books, records, and sheet music.
Only recently, I looked around for a Richard Shores promo LP that I had not heard of before and
(wouldn't you know it) they found a copy here in New Jersey at Princeton University just 15 minutes
from my home.

I've found a couple of things I would've wanted to look at/download but the educational sites that hold the material required credentialed users.

Indeed, yes. Lately, though, the things I want to look at are only available in the British Isles. %$&#@!!!

Check with your local library, Pete. They might have an interlibrary loan (nationwide) service that can help. Or be networked with your state's libraries. Those can cover places that are NOT covered by worldcat.
