A CHRISTMAS STORY, which was basically the Pilot for THE WALTONS TV Series was recorded today in 1971. Talk about a pretty "last minute" get it in the can job. I'm sure the TV Movie itself must have aired pretty quickly that December. I remember watching it and enjoying it very much.

So glad FSM did a wonderful release of the score!

Goldsmith's wonderful Homecoming Main Title:

I watch the DVD every Christmas, love the opening scenes in the snow! Great score by Jerry!

Wow! Thanks for reminding me that I never bothered to pick this up!
I must rectify that. A Jerry score that I don’t own!

One of Goldsmith's best scores in a rather low period in which he faced both personal and professional problems (his mother had died, and he was reeling from losing the Oscar to Francis Lai for the score for "Love Story") and being passed along with other composers for the then "now" sound. A limited, yet distinctive score.

Includes a pretty fun 'B-side', an early James Horner tv score. Think 'Alamo Jobe Goes South'. Usual early Horner hints in there, fun listen.
The Goldsmith is very nice too short & sweet.

These FSM albums - so boring, nothing to pick apart or NOT recommend!!!
Kidding of course...

Sounds like a treat.

I shall own this upon my next paycheck.

This is my top favorite JG TV score.

Simple and just wonderful. I remember watching this on CBS-TV every Christmas Eve when they used to broadcast it. I now have the DVD, which is equally great and highly recommended if you don’t own it.

The FSM CD is a great listen with wonderful liner notes as well. BTW, Mort Stevens was Music Supervisor for the movie and gave Jerry the gig.

Anyway, I just love this score and will be playing the CD again this year for sure:-)
