CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS---producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed he asked Nicolas Cage to appear as Superman in the CW crossover event, "We did reach out to Nic Cage… The thing about movie stars is, they’re all shooting movies, and unless those movies are shooting in Vancouver, we’re kind of out of luck.”

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
Lt. Col. Charles Russhon was the technical adviser on the classic James Bond movies including FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, GOLDFINGER, THUNDERBALL and YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. Before his association with the James Bond movies, Russhon was a photographer with the US Army in World War II where he was awarded the British Distinguished Flying Cross for photo reconnaissance missions with the 1st Air Commando Group which supported British forces in the Burma campaign. Russhon was also the first photographer allowed to photograph Hiroshima after the atomic bomb was dropped on the city.
Russhon's assistance with the James Bond movies is most prominent in GOLDFINGER where he helped the movie production get close access to the Fort Knox Bullion Depository. To show its appreciation, a scene in the movie shows a Fort Knox sign saying, "Welcome to Fort Knox--Gen. Russhon".
In THUNDERBALL, Russhon played a key role in the movie acquiring the high-tech Jetpack James Bond used to escape from SPECTRE gunmen. He also helped obtain experimental rocket fuel used to destroy the Disco Volante hydrofoil, and he helped the movie obtain the B-17 Flying Fortress and Fulton Skyhook used to rescue Bond and Domino at the movie's end.
Russhon was good friends with cartoonist Milton Caniff, the creator of the popular "Steve Canyon" comic strip. The strip's character Charlie Vanilla was based on Russhon, who had a well-known love for ice cream.

STAR WARS---JJ Abrams appeared to be hinting that the return of Emperor Palpatine in THE RISE OF SKYWALKER might show he has a new power, “That character, as you’ll see, he’s got such extraordinary power. I can’t wait for you to see how and why that character’s back and what it means for these characters [gesturing towards Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac]."
Jason Ward of makingstarwars.net said Palpatine exclaims, “I Am Snoke!”
Ward added, “The film will likely not answer the question about how Darth Sidious survived according to my sources. It will imply he controlled Supreme Leader Snoke, but not that Snoke is actually an avatar of Palpatine himself.”
Also, inside sources claim George Lucas is "angry" that JJ Abrams brought Palpatine back for THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. Lucas liked that Rian Johnson had a new approach in THE LAST JEDI, but Lucas is unhappy that Abrams recycled old material in THE FORCE AWAKENS and Palaptine in THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.
Also, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy commented on criticism that Walt Disney and Lucasfilm did not have a roadmap when the current trilogy was planned, “I like to look at the first three movies that George did where he had different directors. He was really serving as the producing role in that. And we were doing a similar kind of thing, which is identifying genre and really allowing a filmmaker, and in the case of J.J. [Abrams] and Rian [Johnson], huge STAR WARS fans, and allowing them to get immersed, to find the center of the story and then make it their own.
I don’t think anything’s ever ‘cemented’ with STAR WARS. It can’t be. It’s so rich with possibility that you don’t want to reach a point where you think you’ve made a decision, and then not leave yourself open to exploring other possibilities and other considerations.
…I’ve worked as a producer in film my entire career. And I always consider myself a voice in the room. But it’s not my ultimate decision. It’s the decision of the director, ultimately. And your job is to serve up as many curated possibilities that they can choose from, work with, see if it’s going to fit in the mosaic of storytelling and then arrive at a point of view to move forward.”

Am interested to see Avenue 5 because it's by the VEEP crew. Has potential.

Wonder Woman and Ghostbusters trailers did nowt for me. Though i liked the small reference to Bernstein's music in the GB trailer.

That Ryan Reynolds/Michael Bay film looks like junk.

Nice Bond details, Dragon.

Thanks Dragon53!

"Jason Ward of makingstarwars.net said Palpatine exclaims, 'I Am Snoke!'"

You mean, the guy that was so powerful he lasted all of five minutes and was wiped out by a girl with no Jedi training?!?

Yeah that makes sense. But what does that have to do with Nic Cage? big grin

I liked all of the trailers. Love Gadot as Wonder Woman. It will be interesting to see how Chris Pine is resurrected. There is a brief hint in the trailer.

You're welcome. When I was a kid I had a Steve Canyon helmet. I got another one on ebay about ten years ago in so-so shape.

JOAN HUE:

I was going to put this in the original post about Patty Jenkins talking about Chris Pine returning, but I didn't think anyone would be interested. Since you brought it up, here it is:

"I can’t tell you [how he’s back], but here’s what I will say: We didn’t put Steve Trevor in this movie because we just wanted to put Steve Trevor in this movie. When we thought of the story for this film while we were making the first film, a eureka moment came and it couldn’t have been told without Chris Pine playing Steve Trevor. So I promise you it’s not a gimmick, it’s integral to the story, it was incredibly important that we had him and we just super enjoyed it. So it was great having Chris back but it’s also important to the story that I can’t wait for you to see.”

Wonder Woman- Loved the first film. This trailer leaves me rather cold though. And she's really selling Steve's return, it better live up to the hype. I prefer dead characters stay dead.

Ghostbusters- This trailer left me rather cold too. But I didn't see anything bad in it and I'm kinda intrigued. Maybe future trailers will win me over.

Star Wars- Its a cluster fuck, no explaining or non-explaining or new force powers are going to fix this mess of a series.

In GOLDFINGER, Russhon helped the movie production get close access to the Fort Knox Bullion Depository.

A GOLDFINGER scene showed the movie's appreciation for Russhon's assistance with a Fort Knox sign saying, "Welcome to Fort Knox--Gen Russhon".

I'll bet that red brick building was an office on the Pinewood lot. You don't see much resemblance to the gold depository. But film is such a persuasive medium that you're swept along, and just figure this part of the structure was around back or out of sight somehow.

ZAPBRANNIGAN:

I think the Russhon sign was at Fort Knox, not Pinewood Studios, because most of the military scenes (except the assault on the Bullion Depository entrance) were filmed at Fort Knox which used to be a very large Army tank base. To the right of the Russhon sign, you can see part of a sign for the tank forces at Fort Knox.

And directed by a female with a strong female lead. As a card carrying chauvinist I feel embarrassed and ashamed.
