This film has been one of my highlights of 2019.The album features the film’s original music composed by Jung Jaeil who previously scored the director’s last feature, Okja.

It seems like the score was only released internationally digitally, with a CD release in Korea. I took a peek on eBay today and there's a copy listed for some crazy price of $999USD. Made me wonder if it's already OOP. I found a store online KPOP Factory that still has some CD copies if anyone is interested. I ordered one for myself (they accept Paypal). Cost including shipping to Canada was a total of $25.50 - I'd imagine it'd be the same for USA and other Overseas folks.

Here’s the track list of the album:

1. Opening (2:07)
2. Conciliation I (1:04)
3. On the Way to Rich House (0:55)
4. Conciliation II (1:10)
5. Plum Juice (0:55)
6. Mr. Yoon and Park (1:51)
7. Conciliation III (1:17)
8. The Belt of Faith (7:13)
9. Moon Gwang Left (0:56)
10. Camping (3:05)
11. The Hellgate (1:15)
12. Heartrending Story of Bubu (1:35)
13. Zappaguri (1:47)
14. Ghost (2:00)
15. The Family is Busy (1:09)
16. Busy to Survive (1:53)
17. The Frontal Lobe of Ki Taek (2:42)
18. Water, Ocean (4:41)
19. Water, Ocean Again (1:36)
20. It is Sunday Morning (4:03)
21. Blood and Sword (3:02)
22. Yasan (1:15)
23. Moving (1:44)
24. Ending (0:53)
25. Soju One Glass – Choi Wooshik & Jung Jaeil(3:20)

Yes, my colleagues went crazy over this film in Cannes earlier this year, even before it got the Palme d'Or. I saw it myself about a month ago or so, in a press screening here in Oslo. I quite like it, although I wasn't as blown away as them. Currently features on my 11th place out of 140 movies that I've seen from 2019. That's very high. But the score -- while eclectic -- really struck a chord with me. I own the soundtrack, and consider it one of the highlights of 2019.

Happy to hear Thor - thanks for your thoughts. The film was engrossing - we recently watched it with some friends. It's a fun film to talk about as there's some really interesting aspects. I thought the ending was well done, and quite clever. smile

You are correct. I just watched it last night in a local theater.

It is a movie that requires viewing members to dissect or at least talk about. The up and down stairs were amazing symbols. Yes, the soundtrack was very good.

Yeah, the class commentary is not uncommon in these films. Park Chan-wook, with whom PARASITE director Bong Joon-ho has collaborated several times, also has this 'upstairs-downstairs' aspect in his movies. It obviously speaks to something in the Korean society.

Thanks for posting this. I missed it when Amazon had it so I'm happy to get another shot at it. (It comes out on vinyl soon, but for me CD is always preferable).

He certainly explored class distinction in Snowpiercer. I would posit that this movie is not just about Korean society. The movie makes several references to America. I think he is illustrating capitalism with its have and have nots in our world.

Yeah, I guess it's fairly universal. Not only the US.

Wow, what a great score - simply wonderful!

Now that's what I love about this board: getting offered to encounters scores I would probably not have found otherwise. THANKS!

I just got the same message. Grrr. I have one more avenue I can think of to explore, then if that fails it's all a matter of chance.

I have a feeling that this may get a re-print at some point as there seems to be demand for it. I will just keep an eye out - hope your other source pans out. smile

I have been after this CD for a while too. I just hope it will be released outside of Korea (perhaps by Milan?). It looks like another sold out title, but the film was released just now in The Netherlands. I think there will be more demand for this than just that sold out Korean CD. I'm not interested in downloads or vinyl. Let's hope for another CD-release, ...anyone???

The same thing happened to me with a very recent Annette Focks title (Rocca verändert die Welt) on CD on the Alhambra-label. Released this year and already completely sold out. I think the numbers of pressed CD's go down and once they're gone, well, they're gone.

Have any of you tried arksquare.net? They list it on their site, however if it is in stock or not, I'm not sure:

I saw that too, but it's frustrating for me. I can't order from Ark Square since I don't have a credit card. And they don't offer PayPal. It's just no option to pay by postal-international money order or change cash at the bank and send it by registered mail. It simply cost too much with all the charges and it's not worth the effort. So, frustrating.

Sorry for your inconvenience. Optionally, we can accept PayPal. Please choose INTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDER and leave a message "Pay by PayPal" on a comment field when you place an order. We will arrange it for you.
However, PARASITE is all sold out and is currently out of stock since we've got many orders today. We are trying to get some more copies. We'll see.
