Are you suggesting that the subheading appeared of its own will and not by someone writing it?
No. I thought it was pretty clear that I was suggesting a *different* person besides the author of the article itself may have written those. The headlines/subheadings aren't always written by the author of a piece, much as sometimes a publisher will come up with a book title they like better than the one provided by an author, and use that.
