Won't be going for a few months, so don't feel shy if you think of others. I haven't been in Paris since I was a teenager--I wonder if they ever finished that iron tower they were working on. I remember buying--and this was I think 1970--an lp of Once Upon a Time in the West (not yet released in the U.S.) and 45's of In Cold Blood and Macadam Cowboy (with Fun City on the back side). I love Gabor Szabo, but my interest in gypsy music is less gypsy jazz or gypsy swing and more of those violin/cymbalom instrumental bands from Romania, Russia, and thereabouts.    Posted:   Jan 1, 2020 - 2:27 PM     By:   odelayy   (Member) At the Fnac Champs Elysée they USED to have a great selection. In early December they dramatically cut the CD corner. They still have some intrada or LLL or whatever but the prices are really really high. I started this in January of 2020, very much anticipating our trip in July of that year. Obviously, we didn't go. We'd like to re-schedule, but will probably wait a bit longer. Record stores come and go, mostly go, so any recommendations? Updates? In making your suggestions keep in mind that in addition to soundtracks I am interested in jazz, classical, and European folk music. Obviously you'd have to look into each individual case because the few stores I clicked on were mostly dealing in heavy metal and hip-hop. But some looked interesting from the "World Music" angle.
