The term "rape" is rarely used in a legal sense anymore.
It's all under the umbrella of "sexual assault" now.
The legal folks then go on to use the specifics, such as "penetration" or "ejaculation", if and when it's applicable.

And that's where the misappropriation of words and putting a range of offences, some much more serious than another, under one umbrella term or umbrella hashtag (ie me too) is very very wrong. This leads to the sort of bull that came from Lara Logan who claimed she had been raped multiple times only for her to then say "assault was all I could feel, their hands raping me over and over and over again,” where it became apparent that her use of the word rape was actually some guys goosing her. And yet when people (ie Matt Damon) try to draw the distinction between putting a hand on a girls shoulder to comfort her and full scale penetrative rape the metoo hashtag brigade go into overdrive and are outraged and try to ruin the guys career. I forgot.... Its wrong to hsve an opinion on this that the appalling Rose Magowan doesn't agree with..... If you do have a different opinion then you are a rape apologist.

I agree. I think it diminishes just how sickening, physically violent and emotionally damaging "rape" really is. While at the same time over blowing the severity of lessor advances or flirtation.
