The Rose wasn’t written for the movie and even had live performances before being picked for the soundtrack.
The current recording of No time tot die was recorded for the movie. It was written for use in the film too.
But...if you look at Academy Rules....The song cannot put out in other media form, without the movie shown first.

Friend of mine called it a dirge (did not like the song) and I think he's right. I've listened to it three times and my initial reaction was in the middle, didn't love it didn't hate it. Upon further review, it's growing on me. I suspect it will play much better over the title sequence then it does as a stand alone. Just found out last night Billie suffers from Tourette's Syndrome which makes the recording of songs extremely difficult for her and requires massive amounts of takes. I find this very interesting and probably informs her singing style which I don't have strong feelings for either way but certainly is unique.
Other Bond Songs: Diamonds Are Forever is the one to beat in my opinion. Greatest Bond song ever. Best lyrics, best vocal performance. Just genius.
Another Way To Die is inarguably the worst song of the series. It's embarrassingly bad and sounds like a flubbed outtake somehow made it to screen.
I don't get the hate on The Writing's On The Wall. I likes it.
Skyfall is the best Bond Song in decades. Top 3 all time for me.
You Know My Name. Man why did it take so long for me to warm up to this. It's probably the best rocker of the series. It's giving A View To A Kill a run for it's money in my book. Chris Cornell is someone I think I've really under appreciated, great great Bond Song.
I love me some good piano and a feeling of anxiety and dread. So it started out promising, ha ha. I was just hoping that Billie’s whisper singing would turn to a louder full voice. Wanted it to kick into high gear, explore more range or belt out a note like at the end of Tina Turner’s Goldeneye but instead it just dwindled out. I’m not too familiar with her other music, so don’t know her vocal capabilities. Maybe that is not her thing. I do like this more than the Sam Smith song which I had completely forgot about until now. I keep wanting someone like Michael Buble to belt one out with big brass, muted trumpets, lush strings and percussion. Maybe this one will grow on me after repeated listening but by initial feeling is that is okay but not great.
Personally I hate it but apparently does not the Swedish newspaper journalist who recently reviewed all the James Bond song themes and put it in the top as the best one.

I really don't get that! It's a fine song but nowhere near the best Bond song.
