MULAN---tv ad released for the Walt Disney remake movie.

LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3pJ7DIsmZc

STAR WARS IX---darkhorizons.com gave a summary of the leaked script for the cancelled STAR WARS: DUEL OF THE FATES which was written by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. It was replaced by STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. The Playlist said the leaked script was confirmed to be genuine by multiple sources. The script is dated December 16, 2016 which is before Carrie Fisher's death which explains why Leia has a more prominent role than in THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.

'"The film’s original title is “Star Wars: Duel Of The Fates” and it begins with The First Order having cut off all communication between planets to suppress a rising rebellion inspired by Luke’s stand at the Battle of Crait. The Resistance’s mission is to re-open communication and call the galaxy to war.

The opening sequence of the film is set at the Kuat Shipyards and sees Finn, Rose, and BB8 steal a Star Destroyer full of old Imperial weapons and vehicles. During this heist Finn sees a fallen Stormtrooper without his helmet on and recognizes him. As a result, his internal conflict when it comes to killing his former brothers and sisters in arms is reignited.

Kylo Ren is missing as far as now Chancellor Hux is aware, but a now stubbled Kylo is on Mustafar and haunted by Luke’s force ghost. In Vader’s Temple, Kylo finds a hologram recording of Palpatine with a message for Vader – If Luke kills Palpatine, Vader is to take Luke to the Remnicore System to see Palpatine’s teacher Tor Valum.

The Holocron detects Kylo isn’t Vader and explodes in red lighting, burning him in the process – Leia force senses it just as the Kuat team return with their stolen Star Destroyer. Rey is still having nightmares involving her connection to Kylo, but in her researching Luke’s old Jedi texts she learns of a ‘Force Beacon’ – a hidden communication system from the Old Republic that can send a signal to 50 planets and call them to war – a signal the First Order can’t stop. The problem? Said system is under the Jedi Temple on a now enemy-occupied Coruscant.

Force ghost Luke appears as Rey trains, pushing her to get stronger, while Kylo makes it back to Coruscant and confronts Hux before heading off again after picking up and then throwing Vader’s mask off a balcony – his devotion to the man shattered. He confronts the 7000-year-old Tor Valum and begins training with him.

The Resistance splits into two missions. The first has Rey, Poe and Chewbacca going to the planet Bonadan to find guidance for Rey. The second team is Rose, Finn, R2 and 3PO who set out to activate the force beacon.

The first team, pursued by the Knights of Ren, reach Bonadan where a Seer manages to extract a star chart out of Rey’s mind from her visions with Kylo. The Knights of Ren show up and fight Rey in a lightsaber battle.

The second team succeed at igniting the beacon, but the First Order soon cut it off and force them to flee into Coruscant’s underbelly. The pair are captured and sent to a POW camp where Rose is interrogated by Hux. Eventually, they escape with Finn having recruited defecting Stormtroopers to fight back.

Rey and Kylo eventually get to Mortis and battle when it’s ultimately revealed Kylo killed Rey’s parents at the behest of Snoke. Towards the end attempts are made to save Ben, but are unsuccessful and he is ‘extinguished’.

Leia brings her forces to Coruscant to battle the First Order with fighting in space and on the ground. Chewie flies an X-Wing at one point. The film ends with Finn and Rose taking all the Force-sensitive youth to a remote planet so Rey can train the next generation of Jedi including ‘Broom Boy’.

The other month came reports that Leia’s servant was Rey’s mother in this version of the script, that was immediately debunked as they were from Jack Thorne’s version of the script. Trevorrow exited the project one month after Thorne was hired to rewrite Trevorrow and Connolly’s script."'

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER---the sequel made $1 billion in 28 days. By comparison, THE FORCE AWAKENS took 12 days and THE LAST JEDI took 19 days.

STAR TREK---regarding his proposed R-rated STAR TREK movie, Quentin Tarantino said earlier that he was, "steering away from STAR TREK". But recently he said, “I think they might make that movie, but I just don’t think I’m going to direct it. It’s a good idea. They should definitely do it, and I’ll be happy to come in and give them some notes on the first rough cut.”

EDGE OF TOMORROW 2---director Doug Liman confirmed the sequel is underway by posting a photo of writer Matt Robinson and producer Alison Winter setting up the sequel.

CITADEL---Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas will star in the US edition of the Amazon/Russo Brothers international spy miniseries.

JACK REACHER---Amazon tv series underway based on the Lee Child novels. Season 1 will be based on THE KILLING FLOOR.

TOTO---Warner Animation movie musical movie underway based on the book TOTO: THE DOG-GONE AMAZING STORY OF THE WIZARD OF OZ.

CW---the network approved two new tv series: SUPERMAN & LOIS starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch and WALKER, a reboot of the Chuck Norris WALKER, TEXAS RANGER tv series starring Jared Padalecki.

MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN---Paramount Network/Taylor Sheridan tv series about the McCluskey family in a Michigan town which is dominated by the federal, state and private prisons.

TRIVIA---before good friends Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds became superstars, both were contract actors with Universal Studios. Universal fired both of the struggling actors on the same day. Reynolds said, “'This is a true story, we were both fired on the same day at Universal Studios, and they told Clint, you know, your Adam’s apple sticks out too far and you won’t get that tooth fixed, that chipped tooth, and you talk too slow. And I said "Why are you firing me?" and they said "You can’t act'".
Reynolds added, '"So the two of us were walking towards his truck and I said, "You know Clint, you’re in a hell of a lot of trouble. He said "Why?" I said, "I can learn to act, you’ll never get rid of that Adam’s apple.’”

Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds starred in CITY HEAT.

I'm glad we got the final Star Wars installment that we did. Aside from the ending, nothing in the broad strokes of the leaked plot says "Finale" to me.

Trevorrow's version doesn't seem to do nearly enough. Why would the First Order fleet be at the climax? The whole fleet, in yet another fleet-off? A "Force Beacon" as yet another McGuffin? Is Kylo the only redshirt of this bunch, and what does "extinguish" mean (sounds like the wrong word used from a thesaurus to mean evaporate, dissipate, discombobulate, dematerialize, vanish, kibosh, etc)? Finn only converts a few Ordertroopers (I would've gone all the way with the whole lot of them)? It just seems like Rise of Skywalker all over again, but with different arrangements and orchestrations (damn you Ken Wannberg and your remixes!).

    Indeed.

IN THIS WEEK OF STAR WARS NEWS: Baby Yoda made his first stinky poodoo... and then Force floated that floater to a hallway at Hogwarts to go with all the other invisible poodoo.

I always understood that it was Eastwood's suggestion the Reynolds did an Italian western after he'd enjoyed his time doing them. I know he remarked that he didn't realise until later that he was working for "the wrong Sergio". I also remember something he said about they only show Navajo Joe on planes and in prisons because the audience can't get away!

Really? That sounded 100x better than the clusterf^^k that put a dagger through the heart of the original Star Wars.

I read somewhere that Burt slept with his horse. And I don't mean the ' after buying it flowers, dinner, then taking it home' sense. It was with the gypsies( I think), the horse trainers.

There are problems JUST WITHIN that short synopsis of the proposed plot of the Trevorrow SW9 film.

    Just look here...

The Holocron detects Kylo isn’t Vader and explodes in red lighting, burning him in the process – Leia force senses it just as the Kuat team return with their stolen Star Destroyer. Rey is still having nightmares involving her connection to Kylo, but in her researching Luke’s old Jedi texts she learns of a ‘Force Beacon’ – a hidden communication system from the Old Republic that can send a signal to 50 planets and call them to war – a signal the First Order can’t stop. blah blah..

You see, even there, it's contradiction and error...just lazy, sh!t writing that permeates the majority of blockbuster stuff these days.
I'm not a particular fan of Abrams' RISE OF SKYWALKER, but that crap above would have been 10 times worse!!

I wouldn't recognise a star wars error if it bit me on the arse.

Sorry Kev - but I might buy that a little more than an object that was built before the Death Star mK 2 (tm) exploding but replicates the shape of a submerged piece of it - if you’re standing in the exact right spot - to reveal the location of the maguffin.

I may have had one bourbon too many but Star Wars has been f****d since The Empire Strikes Back.

Aye, it's third rate scripting and writing wherever you look, Rick.
This 3rd trilogy was cursed when the films were put into production without any real plan, development or story arc.
And these overpaid hacks - because they've had a blockbuster film or two on their resume - get to write up and direct whatever sh!t storm they want and have it greenlit and produced.

The problem with the Star Wars treatment is it's too damned busy. Star Wars, at its best, was a simple tale of good and evil. Even Empire, what I consider the high water mark of the franchise, is basically simple. Luke goes to train with Yoda while Han and Leia elude the Empire until Vader brings them together in the end for the big plot twist.

Simple stories, good characters. That's why the original trilogy endures. Even at its worst (ROTJ), I was at least invested in the people.
