The music speaks for itself, so I'll just say I frequently wish a decent home video of "Town Without Pity" would get released. The dvd video is very mediocre.

TCM just ran THE JUGGLER a couple of nights ago. A vastly underrated and neglected film with a vastly underrated and neglected score by George Anthiel.

I think vikings, spartacus, adrian messenger and the Thor-obscure western lonely are the brave would win it for me out of that selection. In Harms Way and Heroes of Telemark missing too.

Some good music 'missing' too....

The Fury (Williams)
War Wagon (Tiomkin)
Light at the Edge of the World (Piccioni)
Inchon (Goldsmith)
Holocaust 2000 (Morricone)
Strange Love of Martha Ivers (Rozsa)

Incidently I saw The Devil's Disciple a month ago .... It never gets shown on UK TV, and that's a shame as it is an excellent film.

Are you laboring under the mistaken impression that Kirk Douglas is in “Inchon”?

I know he’s an almost dead-ringer for the equally charismatic Toshirô Mifune, but no. Just no.

I meant to say In Harms Way. I had just seen Inchon so had it in mind, also both are war films by Goldsmith.

Toshiro Mifune doesn't have the dimple!

Can we count Mancini's The Moneychangers (what's a miniseries if not a really long movie divided up?)?

John Scott's The Final Countdown.

Is the "Love Theme from Spartacus" the rendition from Bill Evans' Solo Sessions? I hope so. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, and for those of us who appreciate such things, it's also irrevocably connected to that bittersweet year, 1963.

A 1959 TVseries TALES OF THE VIKINGS was based on the movie. Imdb claims Kirk was one of the producers. The Nascimbene theme is excerpted at the start.
