I am posting this on the film score side of the board because 1) Combustible scored a film (the dreaded "Four Rooms"); and 2) their music is more cinematic than a lot of actual film music.

Combustible Edison were at the forefront of the so-called "Lounge" movement. Their debut album, "I Swinger," turned 25 in 2019.

When this little koala lived in Beantown, he would often trudge through the snow to see Combustible at the Green Street Grille in Cambridge or Johnny D's in Somerville.

For the uninitiated, I will use this thread to post some of their tracks that may appeal to fans of film music.

I am starting with a track from their debut, "Impact!"

"Short Double Latte," composed by keyboardist Peter Dixon, is a ringer for 1960s Italian sex farce track by one of the guys named Piero.

The mysterious "Intermission," by bassist Nick Cudahy:

Another by bassist Nick Cudahy, from their second album "Schizophonic."

Picture your beloved koala at the Green Street Grille drinking a pint of GUINESS, of all things, while Combustible played! I have not had a beer in more than 20 years!

I recall that the music for Four Rooms was either Rota/Fellini or CE was just inspired by Rota.

I am jealous! I bet that was amazing!

Michael "The Millionaire" Cudahy also has three soundtrack "albums" available from CDBaby:

I Am Divine:

Wrangler: Anatomy Of An Icon:

Spine Tingler! The William Castle Story:

Downloads only, unfortunately, but one of the very few instances where I've deigned to purchase a download-only release -- the music is just that good. I was lucky to get them before CDBaby discontinued selling FLAC files and went exclusively mp3. Mostly shorter cues, full of cheesy goodness.

No, it was all Combustible originals, with a couple of Esquivel tracks thrown in.

Here is Combustible's note-perfect recreation of Maurice Jarre's "Eyes Without a Face."

I can dig it.

I found myself wearing a fez and holding a martini as soon as that first track started.
