I read an interesting and very detailed article in the New York Times concerning the new production of WSS that is currently in previews on Broadway. It's a complete reimagining of the piece with new staging and choreography. Some songs (e.g., "I Feel Pretty") have been jettisoned. Also, Stephen Sondheim is enthusiastic about it, and the article includes an interview with him about this project.
I couldn't help but wonder how the new Stephen Spielberg version of WSS will compare. Sondheim has also been involved in an advisory capacity.
