Any thoughts on any of this? Besides coming from surviving original Star Trek cast members.

George Takei is prone to saying stupid things in the last few years and linking to the people who've connected to Star Trek, doesn't suddenly make their erroneous opinion valid. The article is written by an idiot who couldn't be bothered to do due diligent research. But really, is anybody surprised when reading an article on The Guardian?

I thought this was a thread explaining what Picard meant in the trailer where he says he resigned because Starfleet wasn't Starfleet anymore. If this is why, then we're living in the evil parallel Trek universe.

That's right. The spinoff-era Starfleet seal was a copy of real military seals, agency seals, and NASA mission patches. And the delta symbol goes back to 1942. But on the Internet, it's considered hilarious to attack from a position of total ignorance.

Space: the final frontier … nah, scratch that.

Space: the world's new war-fighting domain ...

Well color me ignorant. I too thought they were ripping off Star Trek. But unlike some, I'm willing to accept the facts as presented to me. Though there was that "Star Wars" thing at one time...
