I feel like this has been done here before, but for the life of me I can't find it, so: Any favorite song lyrics, that perhaps speak to you, apply to your life, reflect your philosophy, whatafumo? I'll start. Many songs have lyrics that speak to me, but I think my favorite is one to which I was attracted when I first heard it in 1971 - The Allman Brother's version of Statesoro Blues (Mctell). It was a line I would quote to girls from time to time, my words weren't exactly a direct quote of the lyrics: "I ain't good looking (baby), but I'm somewhat sweet and kind."

I no longer identify with this (thankfully) but it sure did resonate with me for a long time in the 90s: Love is the ghost haunting your head Love is the killer you thought Was your friend Love is the creature who lives In the dark Sneaks up, will stick you And painfully pick you apart Love is the leech, sucking you up Love is a vampire, drunk on your blood Love is the beast that will Tear out your heart Hungrily lick it and Painfully pick it apart
