Thanks for the heads up, I am taking Yavar's advice on that Bernstein album, along with some items from the Sale section.

I'm honored! If I may make one more recommendation: Hurry Sundown is Montenegro's magnum opus, an astounding score of great variety and power, unlike anything else he ever did. I highly recommend you check out the sound samples and consider it, before you miss out. I was blown away.

HURRY SUNDOWN is a stone cold masterpiece! And you pretty much also can't go wrong with Bernstein or Fielding. I'll add a little love for the sorely underrepresented George Bruns ... his sound is classic and inimitable, and JOHNNY TREMAIN is his only live-action score to hit CD that I'm aware of.

Darn it! I already placed my order and am only now checking out the samples for Hurry Sundown... well, maybe I should try to place another order before 3/3 just for this album.

Can anyone speak to Islands in the Stream? Is it worth it besides being a Jerry Goldsmith score?

The score is great -- but this recording is not! I strongly recommend the FSM release (Vol. 12, No. 20) which is the OST and is still available through SAE:

I've owned them both, but for my money the FSM is much the superior. Worth the difference of a few more bucks, by a longshot!

Great sale, btw! I picked up the Bernstein and the Rozsa (Man on Half-Moon Street) after listening again to the samples. I'm not sure why I didn't grab these up on the first go-around, but I'm glad I waited. Bargains both!

Tom! There's almost no chance Intrada has already packaged and sent your order, especially with this sale going. Email Jeff at intrada (at) intrada (dot) com, and I am *sure* he'd be happy to add Hurry Sundown to your order so you don't have to pay shipping on a whole separate order.

Intrada's Fielding albums such as Chato's Land were selling out in and around 2008, but their recent re-issues apparently need price reductions just to move stock off mailroom shelves.

Such significant changes transpired regarding consumer marketplace demographics, aesthetic tastes & product content within a mere 10-to-12-year timeframe.

This doesn't bode well for titles like The Amazing Mr. Blunden or Downhill Racer as they receive discounts only months after entering the catalogue.

Elmer B.'s Blunden was likely an object of decades-long searches and tender-loving care for those who produced it … a pity it seems doomed to early dismissal.

t makes you wonder what changes. I would think that the primary audience for 60s and 70s soundtracks would be boomers and gen-xers who by now might have a little disposable income. Maybe the elder members among these demographics feel that they have acquired enough music and are saving their money for other things?

For myself, I am an older gen-xer who pretty much stopped buying music a few years ago. I have more than enough to listen to. I will very rarely spring for something I really want, but I will usually request it as a gift.

Well, and I may suggest to hurry in contacting Jeff - I placed my order yesterday (it was 6 a.m by Intrada's time if my calculations are correct). And at 4 p.m Jeff already shipped my package!
That's why I love Intrada - if items are in stock, they ships them like lightning smile

Thoughts on Another Stakeout?
I mean it's ABR and I already love Blue Thunder, Nick of Time and WarGames so probably a no brainer?

Pretty much! It's a terrific score with a lot of color and depth. Especially if you're already a Rubinstein fan, it's a safe bet you'll be quite happy with your purchase.

Or the reseller bubble burst so far less people are snatching up multiples trying to hock them at inflated prices.

Folks buy up multiples to resell at inflated prices? I am surprised there is a market for this given you can acquire nearly every score in digital format for cheap.

Listening fo Downhill Racer at the moment.

Have watched the Criterion BLU many times. The stereo tracks (tracks 1-21 Stereo - tracks 22–40 are Mono) sound great

Really love these scores from the 1970’s

Well, I missed this sale by a week, having gotten stuff from them just before Valentine's Day.
