Early this year I got to work on a release of music by composer Mark Isaacs for a series of "animated classics" releases done by an Australian company called Burbank Films in the early 1980s. These were adaptations of stories like Ivanhoe, A Tale of Two Cities, Robin Hood, Rob Roy etc., done with limited animation as a series of television specials--if you're old enough you might have seen a few of these broadcast over Thanksgiving weekends or other holidays, but since then they've more or less disappeared. Isaacs recorded these scores at the Sydney Opera House in Australia with a generous-sized orchestra, in an era very much under the influence of John Williams and the symphonic scores he did for Star Wars, Superman etc., and Isaacs' work fits into this universe perfectly, with memorable thematic material and rich orchestrations. Four of these scores are going to be released on CD and I think fans of this era of film music should love it--please check this out: https://youtu.be/8xLfkcH70ao

I've uploaded it to Apple Music, but haven't listened yet. But I enjoyed the booklet, especially the remarks from the producer.
