Haha, imagine paying for Disney + then being asked to pay an additional $30 dollars for select movies. I'm sure they would rather show it in the theaters but if they find out they can get away with this more will come. Just cut out the middle-man. ( the theater owners) This is why the world pie-rates.

One parent and one child (with popcorn) going to see the film in the theater would also cost $30. Or you can wait until the price drops.

Yeah, but you're also paying for the theater experience. As advanced as home theater systems have become I imagine the average person has a mid range HD television with out any external audio hook ups. I can perhaps see charging $15 dollars for a first release movie but $30 to watch it on your television is price gorging. Either way, I wouldn't even pay $15 dollars on top of my subscription service fee to stream a movie one time.

Bitching about movie prices...now THAT'S MORE LIKE IT.

Discarded Face Masks on the street.
Have they replaced condoms at the top of the 'Any Need?' Table?

So kvetching is how the Jewish faith has survived so long? I guess like chicken soup, it couldn't hurt.

Side note - my dad always refers to chicken soup as Jewish penicillin. big grin

Fewer posts here. It's just like when the weather changes. Eventually everyone gets tired of saying "Wow, it sure is cold!" "Isn't it, though?"

Now it's normal. But is it permanent? I get the chills thinking about it.

For what its worth I just had my fourth Corona virus test and came back negative. The entire staff at my ALF remains negative. That doesn't mean things are better, we're just extremely fortunate.

I have a great AMC movie theater that cater to, but I have no desire to go back into a movie theater at this time.

Hi solium! I'm glad you're ok again! I have to get to the dentist, but I just don't feel comfortable going right now, so I don't know what to do?

Me too! I have an infected tooth and it needs to be pulled. I had an appointment right before the Corona Virus took off and they canceled all appointments. They're still not doing surgeries. Meanwhile one side of my mouth is in pain.

I know right?! Damn, I would love to see some classic films on the big screen again. But no way I'm going with this pandemic hanging around.

5000 deaths wiped off the UK figure...just like that.
I heard one case where a fella who had tested positive in April and then died in a car crash in June was given Corona Virus as cause of death!!! True story.
Similar cases where people with end stage cancer were being tagged as Corona Virus cause of death.
Ridiculous that that happened in the first place and ridiculous that they now just wipe 5k off the figures!!
Who chose that figure?
Why not try to make it look even better and wipe off 10 or 15k?

The cinemas have been open a few weeks in England, but every time I check what's on, besides some new Russell Crowe road rage film and a spooky film I've never heard of, it's all stuff you can watch on the telly or your dvd.
But Tenet is getting some major TV advertising, so that looks like the first big newie that's gonna be unveiled. Next week I think.
Just looks like Inception 2 to me (and I hated Inception 1).

This controversy has been going strong in the US to try and minimize the severity of the pandemic and force people back to work and school. I'm not saying there aren't some errors in data collection but I'm betting its more accurate than inaccurate. Also its much harder to deny the infected numbers so even if they're aren't as many deaths the infection rate is high, Covid 19 is highly contagious and it can lead to permanent damage to your lungs and heart.

"I don't understand why you didn't go. I mean, it's family. There's no coronavirus in OUR family."

Oh, geez. And here I thought it was only Americans who were casual about all this. It's probably everywhere.

The casual attitude is in India, too: https://www.kalw.org/post/sandip-roy-346-new-normal

The dentist and staff had lots of protective gear on, and were using equipment that wasn't spraying stuff around. So I felt safe.

I hope you and Solly go soon. Dental pain is no fun, and gets in the way of the thing we all need: food!
