Some films exploit sex in mainstream cinema. Among them, only one stands out as superior: Basic Instinct. It caused such a furor when it was released in early 1992 because of the subject matter and gratuitous violence. Other films have dealt with the same subject, but none achieved the perfect marriage of music to visuals that Goldsmith captured.

173 pages, 9×12 inches. Paperbound, printed in U.S.A.

Shipping times could vary from initial projections. Omni Music appreciates your patience.

Available worldwide

Would be cool if you could order it; I found no way to do so though. (A footnote box says online store closed until November?)

Really? I can add it to the cart, but then cannot access the cart. And when I scroll to the bottom it says Online Store closed until November.

I just ordered this right after I got an email about it's availability. I have 3 of their publications, Silverado, Ghostbusters, and The Wizard of Oz.
Because CD releases of these scores are not in published order, titles are changed, cues combined, etc. I suggest reading them with the DVD. In short, these are excellent publications at a very reasonable price.
Highly recommended.

Good lord.. $60 - $80 shipping (to EU)... whoa, would buy this but... no.

Yeah the price of the actually score is fine but to pay the same amount just for shipping kinda kills it for me. I bought the Matrix full score when I was at a much better paying job so i didn’t think of the expense but I’m a little more restricted these days so I can’t justify this expense.

I’m hoping they will make eBook versions. I’d pay the same or almost the same for an electronic version minus the horrid shipping rates.

This reminds me, I heard the Alien score was available but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have a link?

The info & pics look pretty-thin, its confusing Goldsmith's BI wasn't full orchestra synths were used, who does this orchestration the catalogue titles, i believe what Quartet unearthed was the full shebang, is there any-chance of sound-clips too hear-how crisp this is the price warrants that.

Not sure what you mean... this is obviously not another release of the soundtrack recording, but of the actual score as such, as in printed score.

Yes, I'd be really willing to buy this (and TOTAL RECALL), but the shipping is just ludicrous.

I'm still lost is this a cd or is this written work on sheet, like i said the info wasn't saying any-think other than track listing, this sort of merchandise outside cd boutiques is totally new too me.

I’m waiting for them to release Legend then finances be damned. I spoke with the founder of Omni and he said Legend and Conan were the two top requests. Not that it means they will see the light of day but it’s good that there’s demand for those amazing scores.

This here is indeed not a CD, it is the full orchestral score and it says so on the page... (I thought it was obvious, it's 173 pages, and bound and printed. But the issue of confusion may be that we are a bunch of soundtrack collectors, and these things are often called "original motion picture scores", even though technically, they are just recordings of the score.).

So yes, it is sheet music, something to read (or to perform), but not to listen to. :-)
What is meant by "full orchestral score" here is that it is the "full" score (which actually includes synthesizer and all the other instruments) to distinguish it from condensed (piano) scores, which are also often on offer.

And yes, I'b be very interested to get that (or even more TOTAL RECALL)... but at that shipping price, I just cannot allow myself to do it.

The main post of this thread you're in says "173 pages, 9×12 inches. Paperbound, printed in U.S.A."

I'm with most on this thread...I bought SILVERADO and it's a great product, but this time around the shipping is going to keep me from purchasing.
I wish they offered super slow ground shipping...I don't care if it takes a month and a half to get to Canada, I just wish they offered a cheaper option.

Long time reader, and it's my first time posting, but I recently ordered this and it's been such a pleasure reading through the score. I really hope Omni continues to succeed and publish more. Being able to read and study printed film scores like this was always something I wished for.

I'm in Canada as well (Alberta) and while I've bitten the bullet for shipping in the past from Omni, I tried a reshipping service this time (shipped to Montana and then brought over the border by a brokerage and transport company) and the shipping cost was about $35 CAD in total. Still a large amount, but cheaper than Omni's direct shipping option. Let me know if you want more details.
