I think Corona Virus has just saved me a few bob. The postman left a package in the porch, from Arksquare in Japan, with a couple of discs valuing $80 and marked accordingly. But no customs were levied. I was braced for them, so that's nice. Anyway. Has anyone got this set yet? My stars, it's a thing of beauty. The packaging is a sheer delight. A sturdy outer box, with another inner box housing the 3 disc set and an envelope full of gorgeous photo frame cards from the film. And two booklets within the clam shell case. The original English text one and a Japanese edition covering the 3 discs. It truly is gorgeous and would grace any soundtrack collectors shelf. It's great to have Chris Beck's beautiful score on shiny silver. I'm gonna enjoy the hell out of this set. Anyone else loving it?
"Who's selling this?" ------------------- It's available from Ark Square in Japan for $49.00. It's a legit Walt Disney Records release. It's just ridiculous that it wasn't pressed in the USA or Europe. It's not like the film bombed or is low-key. This set is stunning, if you're a fan of Beck's music or the film (or both).

Because Disney is HUGE in Japan... I got mine off eBay.
If you mean the digital download score release, dylan, then yes, it's 19 tracks and 53 minutes of score on disc 3. Disc 1 has the original English language versions of the songs and the Japanese versions and disc 2 has Karaoke versions and original cast demos/outtakes. It's the fact the score is available on pressed CD that is the thrill.
You're welcome Ron. I think you're gonna love it. A lot of the score sounds very Goldsmithian to me. Certainly the battle/action tracks. And there's that Herrmann motif/vibe someone mentioned in the previous thread. Also, it's got that old lovely Buffy Beck sound back in the softer cues. Sisters could have come straight from a Joss Whedon episode. And don't miss disc 2. Although it says karaoke versions, it just the lovely song arrangements without vocals and The Next Right Thing is absolutely gorgeous. Although it's not by Beck (Dave Metzger is credited with orchestration/arrangements) it too sounds like something straight out of Buffy or Angel. Acathla would love this shit.
I've never heard of this store before. Is this a legit copy and not a bootleg? I've been duped into buying bootleg soundtracks before from websites I've never shopped at before.

This has become one of my favourite scores of the past whatever. Beck is really allowed to break out with dynamic action cues and glorious, soaring melodies (sometimes the song tunes, sometimes not). He must have had a blast writing and recording this one, in this day and age.
