And I don’t mind telling the wider internet audience that I am suspicious of letting “Android” (read: Google) have access to titles and “play durations” of my particular music collection.
So, O.K., MQA promotionists. I’m sympathetic. I want better audio at cheaper prices with more conveniences. But tell me this: How do I get all my old DVD-Audio and SACD and HDCD onto the new devices? Those were all formats that had “digital watermarks”, right? Tell me what disc drive out there reads all those formats plus MQA-encoded discs?
Or is the “MQA alliance”, such as it is, just expecting me to repurchase downloads?

I might not understand what your looking for. But if your old device has ahead set jack. you can buy jack that can plug in that device. Then plug it in your computer input jack(you might need to convert to a pin jack on the p.c. end. Get your self a free audio program. audacity is the program I use. I convert om old wax to mp3. Then I load up memory stick. off I go. you can put over 100 song on one memory stick.

Here's a question, Jackal. If you are taking your music on the go and listening through phones, would you really be able to discern an audible different between hi-rez and standard CD rez?

Not on my current “on the go” equipment. The whole reason I’m investigating this is I’d like a portable music system where I can tell the difference.
By the way, I’m interested primarily in how these MQA-enabled devices are loaded with content. Can I put my old disc-based content on them? With what enabling extra hardware or software? For how much more money?
