Quick aside - people always say that the shark theme is only two notes. But we all know better - it's three notes: E F E F E F E F D E E F D E E F So, don't forget the "D" - it's what adds an extra depth and threat to the music, and gives it an even greater sense of forward momentum. And we all know two that the shark theme actually has three different elements - the ostinato described above, the rising tuba motif (which starts with Cb E Db) and the "mystery and awe" section, carried by the violins and french horns (most prominent in the film in that spectacular God's Eye View shot looking down at the Orca as the shark passes beneath it).
