Hello, maybe Stargate is not as famous like Star Trek, but nevertheless Joel Goldsmith composed a lot of great stuff for Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. Why there are not more releases? Is it like with a new movie that won't happen because, according to Emmerich, too much guys have the copyrights on Stargate?

I'd like to see more music from the series, too. It's a pity that Crescendo Records didn't continue their "Best of" releases, one for each season. I thought the first was a good representation of the music for that year.

I have the pilot movie score by Goldsmith- it's pretty great stuff. I also highly recommend Kull- the Conquerer, it's pretty great too.

Now La La Land Records has given us a definitive release of David Arnold's score for Stargate, I would love the focus to move to getting more Stargate tv music released. The recent release from Intrada of some of Richard Band's SG1 music and the Dragon’s Domain Records release Joel Goldsmith's revised Children Of The Gods score were much appreciated. Before Joel Goldsmith sadly passed away there was talk about their being several Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis soundtrack projects being in the works. It would be great if La La Land Records, Intrada, or Dragon’s Domain Records could see if they could finally bring these projects to release. For Stargate Universe I would love to see a three or four disk set of the music. Joel Goldsmith's really out did himself on that series. He brought a new style and sound to the Stargate universe that matched the darker and more adult themed SGU perfectly while still having that Stargate feel.

Back before Joel died and he was posting sometimes at his now defunct message board at his now defunct website, he posted an image of titles coming from his label and there were small images of "Stargate: SG1" and "Stargate: Atlantis" on there. These, of course, never materialized. It appears his death put these on hold. They are massive projects, given how long the first show was on, and I imagine it's not something most labels are interested in. Good music, but it's certainly not classic TV scoring, like "Gunsmoke" or "The Twilight Zone". Shame.
