We've discussed the early disco years before and the albums and songs that pre-date the 1975-79 boom. One of the albums among these is Eddie Kendricks' album, Boogie Down! from 1974. I initially had the title song on my list.
The album's back cover shows Our Man Eddie in a safari suit, striking the prototypical disco pose.
Kendricks IIRC had a #1 US pop chart hit in 1974, with either "Boogie Down" or "Keep On Truckin'", so Eddie was ahead of the trend.
Honestly, Barry is fantastic, but the only Barry tune I ever heard in a disco was "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love". And I love it, but I had to limit it to 10. If it was 20, he'd be there!

Ask me for a more 80s-centric club top ten soul/jazz funk/dance and that would be much different.
Hi! I'd think FSM fans would at least have an appreciation for the Giorgio Moroder-arranged "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer, the disco Jaws theme by Lalo Schiffrin, or the beloved Meco "Star Wars" theme. There's also a fun version of Jack Jones disco "Wives and Lovers". Back to FSM, the soundtrack to the German In Den Kosmos: https://youtu.be/KldQl713Od0
