'Everybody's talking about it! It's terrific! (Citizen Kane)'
The most generic tag for the greatest movie ever made- good job 1941-somebody.

'It’s about…Hot pastrami sandwiches. Chuckles, the Chipmunk,
the original Lum Far’s Oriental Paradise, 18 busted radios,
24 worthless clocks, a Prussian helmet, unemployment
insurance, spies, kite-flying, a bugle, a wooden eagle,
4 pairs of binoculars, the Statue of Liberty, a Park Avenue
volleyball team, one television set (minus screen),
a nameless nephew whose mother went out for cigarettes
seven years ago, a girl with a “good-bye” problem, and a
one-in-a-million guy by the name of Murray Burns.

Sooner or Later…
You’ll Fall in Love with
“A Thousand Clowns” '
I'd buy a ticket. It's like lyrics to a terrible/the coolest song.

'"It Will Pleasure You In a Hundred Ways!"'
Oh man...

'Harry Caul
is an invader of privacy.
The best in the business.
He can record
any conversation
between two people
anywhere.

So far,
three people are dead
because of him.

[The Conversation, 1974]'
This all feels like placeholder copy. It's just word salad.

'This is a story of two men
who will sacrifice anything
to achieve their goals…
Except their honor.

[Chariots of Fire, 1981]'
FIFY

'You've never seen anything like it in your life! (Doctor Dolittle)'
This has the benefit of being true- esp of the remake.

'This is a story of war and friendship,
the anguish of a country and
of one man’s will to live.

[The Killing Fields, 1984]'
FIFY

Ugh- most of these just need a red pencil. Only a few are truly awful. This stuff isn't that hard.

My friends quickly grew tired of me quoting "It Will Pleasure You in a Hundred Ways."

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING????!!!

(today was the final entry in the poster tagline series, FYI. I think eleven weeks is probably more than enough).

Taken out of context the tagline "It Will Pleasure You in a Hundred Ways." sounds more suited to Deep Throat than Friendly Persuasion (one of my favourite films). But taken in context of the movie and the Nathaniel West novel on which the film was based (which to the best of my knowledge was quite popular at the time) it actually makes sense as it's a line in the movie where the Quakers talk in this very old-fashioned way. That's the reason also why the title song is called "Thee I Love" instead of "I Love You".

Thanks for your efforts in unearthing these taglinbes. I had a blast reading them (awful as most of them were).
