That album is so good we don't need any more.

There is no I in we, unless it is spelled the French way; oui, which translated means yes, as in yes, I do need more
Hawaii 5-0 music. There's lots of great music in the series, and while the album is one of my favorites, the music therein was often used throughout the series especially in the first couple of seasons. I say, bring on more Hawaii 5-0 music.

Count me in for more Five 0 music. I would love a box-set. I also have the album but come on, that's just a mere taster of the fabulous music played throughout the series. It always irks me when people say things like, 'Oh, we have the album, we don't need any more'. Well my answer to that is don't buy any subsequent releases but don't deny others that do. It's called choices.

HAL 9000, I should have asked you this a few months ago, but does the Don Ray LP only have the H50 tracks on it (16 in total)? What is the arrangement of these tracks on the LP, do they take all of side one, for example? Or are there more tracks on the LP (presumably by Ray)?

As far as the H50 related contents of the Ray LP are, I asked some friend of mine who is much better than me at identifying stuff like this as to what shows these tracks were from, and this is what is reported back:

Track 1 - this sounds like that whole nighttime segment where Danno is trailing John Rubinstein and his brother in “Pig in a Blanket” culminating with Danno shooting the brother. It’s used in other episodes too but this may have been the first episode.

Track 2 - this is the navy theme from "Follow the White Brick Road."

Track 3 - this is the breezy piece that is heard in a few episodes, most notably in “Cloth of Gold” where Akamai and Manoa go out fishing together.

Track 4 - “Cloth of Gold” where Manoa confronts Wallis after the latter touches the deadly shell. Heard in other episodes. May also be in Rest In Peace, Somebody where Cameron leaves the trail of paint. Either that or the violin theme. Can’t recall. One of those creepy pieces.

Track 5 - I call it the “dire situation” piece. Heard in many episodes, usually in hospital settings like when Michael Strong’s wife is in critical condition in “Air Cargo - Dial for Murder” or I think when Lou Antonio is taken to hospital in “The Burning Ice”.

Track 6 - this usually plays when someone falls out of a high rise window. Although this particular piece sounds like it plays at the very end of an episode. There’s a finality at the very end. Unless it’s 2 separate Don Ray pieces stitched together.

Track 7 - sounds like “The Late John Louisiana.”

Tracks 8 and 9 - commercial waves mostly from seasons 4-6.

Tracks 10 and 16 - sound like those peppy tunes from "Savage Sunday."

Track 11 - sounds like “The Late John Louisiana” opening where Tigner finds our happy couple and then later Julie’s nightmare. Also underwater opening of “Cloth of Gold”.

Track 12 - heard in many episodes. Can’t think of particular one.

Track 13 - again sounds like Late John Louisiana. Others as well. I think this one may be where Don Stroud comforts Julie in the hotel when she’s scared after her nightmare. Sounds like some of the “memories” theme is mixed in there as well.

Track 14 - military theme, heard at the end of "To Kill or Be Killed."

Track 15 - first heard in "Ten Thousand Diamonds and a Heart."

I was just thinking what a truly GREAT release this would be.

I really wish it comes about one day soon!
