None of those issues come into play with regard to the announcements. The CD Club and the sale are separate topics, so they should get separate threads. The cynicism on this forum is downright cancerous.

It's a great sale, if you disregard the shipping issue for a moment. If you don't already have them, these are must-haves in anyone's collection -- especially at those prices: Beat the Drum (Klaus Badelt & Ramin Djawadi) - $5.00 Down Twisted (Eric Allaman & Reinhard Scheuregger (Berlin Game)) - $5.00 ... Phoebe In Wonderland (Christophe Beck) - $5.00 I'll give those a shot. along with- Grabbed the following... -Runaway Jury (Young) Price: $5.00 -My Left Foot / Da (Bernstein) Price: $5.00 -Music Box (Sarde) Price: $5.00 I've been on a Sarde kick lately, so seeing 3 copies of Music Box left available, snapped me into panic mode. Also picked up Almost an Angel: The Deluxe Edition (Maurice Jarre) - $9.98 Charlie Wilson's War (James Newton Howard) - $5.00 Matchstick Men (Hans Zimmer) - $5.00 Mrs. Winterbourne (Patrick Doyle) - $5.00 Sylvia (Gabriel Yared) - $5.00 Wah-Wah (Patrick Doyle) - $5.00 White Oleander (Thomas Newman) - $5.00 The Big Fix (Bill Conti) Absence Of Malice (Dave Grusin) Small Soldiers (expanded) (Jerry Goldsmith) The last three had been sitting in my cart for months now. I waited for Memorial Day to see if there was going to be a sale, and I was prepared to wait till Father's Day for the same reason. I'm sure the Goldsmith will get marked down to $9.98 one of these years, when there are under ten copies left, but I'm not that patient. Samples weren't working on the Yared. He's been hit an miss with me lately, but for $5 what the hell. Same with the Zimmer. I just watched MM a week back to but can't recall the score at all. That's Zimmer, I guess. I figure it will work good for reading music though.

The Zimmer I would recommend to everyone is Spanglish! One of my favorites of his; wish he did more movies like that these days instead of huge blockbusters which IMO usually aren’t his forte. Yavar

Doggone it. Yeah. I goofed. It's not too late! Also, I am not an Adam Sandler fan in general, but every decade or so he turns out a good performance in something...Punch Drunk Love, for one example. Uncut Gems (I've heard, anyway) recently. And he's pretty wonderful in Spanglish (though he's not exactly the main character). Actually the whole movie is pretty damn wonderful, if I'm being honest. I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen the film -- check it out! It's fairly unique and not "just another movie". And my wife, who is Hispanic, really appreciates it having a genuine Hispanic female protagonist. And similarly as with Sandler, I'm not a Hans Zimmer fan in general by any means...but his score here is frankly pretty magical, memorable, and perfectly judged. Never too much, never too little. And oh yeah, Jupiter Ascending at $5 is an amazing steal for a 2 CD set. But what I'm really shocked about is the fact that Family Plot is still around after all these years and being discounted multiple times. I mean, it's one of my TOP FIVE Williams scores. It is alternately fun and thrilling. It is a delightful masterpiece, and it really elevates the film (which I also find wonderful and underrated and way better than anything else Hitchcock made in the previous decade and a half before this final film...Frenzy is the only other Hitchcock film after Psycho that I actually like!)
