As far as Synthesis and Legendary goes, their support and assistance has been invaluable on all the Irwin Allen music projects (as well as on my book)--they are keeping the Irwin Allen brand alive and people should be celebrating that.
We do have the "Phantom Strikes" music, "Attack," "The Deadly Dolls" and most of the remaining scores from the color episodes--sound is variable but most of it is releasable, enough for another 4-CD set, but that will depend on sales of this set. Get the hint?

So... almost 4 years later, do you think a second set of Voyage's music could be available to collectors?
Heck, I'm ready to pay a special price to get the remaining ones that survived! Maybe a very limited expensive set?!

The ones I'm precisely looking for would be Stevens "Death fom the Past" and Courage's "Leviathan". But "Phantom Strikes" sounds good too.

Anybody else would join to "coproduce"(not stepping on anyone's toes here. I'd just love to see it happen) a volume 2?!

There is no doubt that Star Trek is infinitely superior to the Allen shows overall, but let's not forget the numerous stinkers present in ALL of the Star Trek series, including TNG. Spock's Brain, anyone?

"Spock's Brain" is merely "meh." It's actually really good for the first half. You want bad, I give you:

"I, Mudd"
"A Piece of the Action"
"And the Children Shall Lead"
"The Way to Eden"

"Spock's Brain" is like Lost In Space's "The Great Vegetable Rebellion." It's got the campy title and the wacko concept but there are a number of episodes much, much worse.

Um, what else would you call it? It WAS about his brain! You want something more arty like THE CITY ON THE EDGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN? Or more grindhouse, like THE UNDERGROUND TEMPLE OF BRAINLESS BABES WHOSE BOSS BRAIN WAS DRAINED?

Pretty damning evidence, indeed. These episodes were indeed stinkers, although "A Piece of the Action" still evokes fond - and very silly - memories. I would much rather watch the Lost in Space hippie episode over "The Way to Eden" any day of the week. Plus, the score by Joseph Mullendore is pure fun.

Please continue, with an emphasis of the TNG stinkers, of which there are many, and no they are absolutely NOT limited to season one.

EDIT. Also, you could add "Turnabout Intruder" in a way, an episode I hated for so long, but now I find to be an absolute bat excrement crazily entertaining episode. None, none whatsoever, could chew the scenery the way Bill could at the height of powers.

Please don't, this is the music forum. We already know you hate the ST:TNG from posts in the non-music forum.

Hate, not really. Mediocre, very much yes, despite all the weird hero worship around here.

Was trying to bring back the VTTBOTS volume 2 discussion, and some add Star Trek to it.
Oh well...

My controversial opinion (on the set we do have) is that I've been loving "The Monster from Outer Space" by Lennie Hayton more than the Leith Stevens segments.

Also, I feel there is a bias towards the 2nd season music - which hogs up 50% of the limelight.
The 3rd season fared only a little better than the 1st season. I think the selections from VOYAGE's final year are satisfyingly representative of the 4th season.

Curious to know, too, if Advise & Consent (and any others) acquired any non-Irwin Allen soundtracks by Paul Sawtell (& Shefter) to fill the void, so to speak, resulting from the absence of 1st season music beyond the show's pilot.

Well, none of Sawtell's music outside Voyage sounds much like his music FOR Voyage. In fact, his series theme is the best thing he ever did and is pretty unique in his catalogue.

What I have done is grab as many Fox film scores that Irwin Allen had tracked or had Lionel Newman adapt in the series as I could find. Lots of great scores by Hugo Friedhofer, Lionel Newman, Leigh Harline and Alfred Newman as well as Benny Herrmann.

Just off the trop of my head:

The Last Wagon
Rains of Ranchipur
The Enemy Below
Garden of Evil
King of the Khyber Rifles
Hell and High Water
The Young Lions
Prince of Foxes
Between Heaven and Hell
Soldier of Fortune
5 Fingers
The Day the Earth Stood Still

"The Controller" would be nice and succinct and that's what the inhabitants called it. big grin

Hm. I suppose, but kind of boring. How about: FULL FRONTAL LOBE.

I've asked the Three Wise Men to bring me this on January 6th, and if they don't I'll have to start doubting their existence.
