Hasn't the guitar always been in the Bond theme? David Arnold's version "The name's Bond..." even features it strongly. Even so I suspect Hans is may be indicating that we will have a lot of the Bond theme with Johnny Marr's guitar rendition for action sequences to save time on new composition. Not that the Bond theme isn't welcome, but I am hoping he injects a bit more of his own sound to the movie. I mean he has written some incredible action music over the years and a Bond film has to be a dream project. Yet he had to seek advice from Johnny Marr as to whether he should do it? and that really Steve Mazzaro should be the top name on it. I'm have to say I'm a bit concerned.
The last Bond film was on the telly the other night (Spectre?) and there were parts where I was thinking 'this could well be by Zimmer'. It sure had that modern percussive film score vibe.
