I just picked up a CD for 50p from a Cancer Research charity shop.
Hayley Westenra singing along to Ennio Morricone tunes.
Album is called Paradiso.
Thoughts?

It's decent kev. She has good voice. Very passable Metti una sera a cena

i can´t stand her voice, it´s very "thin" and painful to listen to! and "focus" is a masterpiece!

If you look earlier in the thread there are a few more of that type of murals.

Thanks Bill, Governor and Prince. These pictures always bring tears in my eyes. Would any other composer benefit such huge murals ? I don't think so. The legend goes on...

I think he was lucky. He was known by more of the average people I think.

Huge in Italy, a kind of national treasure. Like royal family. Bursts of his music appear on TV every night, quiz shows, adverts, everything.

The day he died, the first 15 minutes of the national broadcast of the TG1 from RAI 1 (Evening news hosted by Laura Chimenti) were dedicated to Ennio Morricone and then a special rerun of an inteview from Che Tempo Che Fa with Fabio Fazio.
Without counting the "Grazie Maestro" during ads cuts all day long. A HUGE national loss.

To celebrate the memory of the Maestro, I finally picked up a CD I didn't play for ages : NANA, LE DÉSIR. You could object it's of course certainly not among his masterpieces but it still has some nice moments. And it's pleasant throughout. I by the way wonder why this score never got reissued since the CD release harking back to 2000.
