Has anyone replicated the opening sequence for Twister? I mean the 1969 part ..basically for the Main Title / 1969. If so what are the pieces to use from the score?

I wasn't aware there was music before "Wheatfield"? Are you referring to the sound effects?

I think they used parts of "The Sky" and "The First Twister" for the opening of the movie but muted serveral layers out.

Hi, Twister Guy here.

Just wanting to chime in due to the Twisterness of the convo. No clue about the actual question though.
Just making sure there is no Twister thread without my comment. ;-)

Twister is one of the great films out there. Thank you for treating it and the brilliant soundtrack with respect.

I listen to it a lot. Was extremely grateful to LLL for releasing this one. Walk in the Woods is a powerhouse!

EDIT: What kusi81 is right--I dusted off my old VHS and it sounds like bits of "The Sky" edited together--just the creepy minor key part tho. I don't hear the part in "The First Twister" but my VHS player doesn't hook up to my sound system so I'm listening through tiny TV speakers.

It's not sfx but tracked music.

I forgot that some of "The Sky" is used...just trying to wonder what else was used.

Edit: It looks like "Drie-In Twister" was used but quite a few of the other instruments weren't present like the trumpet and some other stuff. Mostly the beginning of that track was used. Also some chimes that are heard in the cue "The Sky" at the beginning. It's too bad this piece wasn't included as a bonus track.

I've actually wondered this and figured it was just tracked in. Same with the cue after House Visit before The Big Suck when they're running to the barn.
