I grew up on the 60's Spider-man TV series. It was one of my favourite shows as a kid.

The music is burned into my brain.

I know the possibility of an official release of the music is zero but I have been using the inter-webs (get it?) and youtube to listen to the music people have put together from however they do it via the DVD release of the series.

So - most tracks have sound effects in them.

Which leads me to the point of this pointless post - I think the sound effect of Spidey's web shooters in the 60's TV series is the definitive sound of a web being....shot.

Ok. That's it....I'm done....Thor, this post needs to be linked to your drinking thread somehow. Because I'm fuc....

Video clips would help! I fondly remember the series myself. Though it always drove me nuts Spidey only had the webbing on his head. I read they did that to cut costs in animation. That would've been a lot of extra line drawing per cel. Of course the main theme is what everyone remembers and makes the series probably more iconic than it actually was.

The earlier episodes were true to the comic, in spirit if not text, but once Ralph Bakshi took over the show got so damned bizarre and a great deal of fun. It also relied more on library music, much of which is out there on the innerwebs. Just do a little searching and you'll find a lot of it. The Ray Ellis stuff created for the show is harder and Ellis said in an interview that it was lost.

It's a gas to revisit some of them, but I tend to go more toward the 3rd year's episodes because they were like psychedelic drug trips.

I remember some of my favourite episodes were the ones that were a bit....different. The wild sky backgrounds, Spidey vs goblin things under the city......

I bought the box set DVD TV series years ago from the US but can’t watch it any more because my new player isn’t region free.

Oh wow, that music immediately comes back to me now. You know is sounds a lot like Star Trek the Animated Series.
